WildflowerHaven.com is a nature tourism** service of EquipU, LLC (a limited liability company organized in the State of Texas).
**Nature tourism was defined by the Texas Nature Tourism Task Force as "discretionary travel to natural areas that conserves the environmental, social and cultural values while generating an economic benefit to the local community."
EquipU, LLC is an "Eco-Business" specializing in providing publishing, information and consulting services that:
- enhance the environment,
- encourage conservation efforts,
- promote reduction and prevention of pollution
- promote responsible urban and rural residential and commercial development that supports green building and environmentally safe practices.
EquipU, LLC also provides online and electronic media publishing services for professional photographers, writers and artists who use photography, writing, art, arts and crafts to promote an appreciation of nature and the natural world as it relates to humankind.
WildflowerHaven was developed out of a love for nature and the vast natural beauty of Texas. Although, in this release we feature wildflowers of Texas, we hope to expand this to the enjoyment of wildflowers worldwide.
Presently we provide the following:
• Texas Wildflower Reports: Trip Reports conducted by the wildflowerhaven.com staff, giving you up-to-date information on the areas to visit this spring. Our staff trip reports will include photos, directions, ratings and special tips on when to make your visit. In addition, we hope to provide spotter reports from users who have sighted special places for wildflower viewing.
• Wildflower Routes: A listing with maps of the regular routes providing a good viewing of wildflowers. Up-to-date reports of these routes will also be provided.
• Wildflower Galleries: We will be building a gallery of wildflower photos to aide you in identification and appreciation of wildflowers.
• Wildflower Events: A listing of wildflower festivals and events held each year during the season. Our staff will be proving our own reviews and reports of each event we attend.
• Resource Library: Links to resources to help you find, identify, purchase seed, and grow wildflowers
• Other Features: We have lots more planned including, reviews of state/national/local parks and botanical centers, activities for the family, tips on growing your own wildflowers, where to get seeds, history of wildflowers and a special story series on the mystery of Wildflower Haven.
