Contest Rules
Photos:
- Photos must be taken during the contest period of
3/25/2005-6/15/2005.
- Photos must be of wildflowers, native
plants or native trees blooming in
rural or natural settings
during the contest period .
A natural setting can also be
within a national, state or local park, wildflower center,
or botanical garden so long as the garden setting represents a
natural or wild setting. A rural setting is defined as not
being within a community or incorporated township/city.
- Photos must be submitted as a digital
image in JPEG/JPG format via email no later than 11:59
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) of **June 16th, 2005**,
to
springphotocontest@wildflowerhaven.com.
- The images must be limited
in size to
800 pixels on the longest size by 600 pixels on the shortest
side.
- Only one image per person will be
judged. The last image received from an individual prior
to the deadline will be the image judged.
Submissions
The
following information must be submitted with the image:
- Full Name of photographer:
- Title of photograph:
- Email address of photograph:
- Where the photo was taken:
- Date photo was taken:
- Permission to post the photo on
WildflowerHaven.com and Wildflower Community.
Other information may be requested as
needed.
Limited post processing:
Only the following post processing actions may be applied to
the image.
- Unsharp Masking/sharpening filters
- Adjustment of color levels or white balance using curves, levels
adjustments or saturation.
- Resizing/cropping
- Double exposures may be used to increase dynamic range to include
elements like the moon in a photo where the luminance of the
element is beyond the range of the rest of the photo.
- All
elements must have existed in the frame of the photo as
originally taken by the photographer and viewed by the
photographer at the time the photo was taken. Objects may
NOT be added to the image.
- Objects deemed a distraction (i.e.,
signs, people, cars, utility poles and lines) may be
removed from the image.
- Reduction of digital noise
- Blurring/dodging/burning
Eligibility: Amateur and
Professional
photographers are eligible. Employees of
WildflowerHaven.com and EquipU, LLC, are ineligible. Minors under the law as applicable must obtain permission
from their parents or legal guardians to
participate.
Legal Rights
All legal restrictions that may apply to
participation of an individual or submission of an image
must be obeyed.
This includes but is not limited to the
rights of any individual associated with the image or the
rights of the owners of any property where the photo was
taken. The required model, property and other releases
must be available on demand for any image submitted that
requires one. The image must not include obscene, illegal,
lewd or improper content.
Individuals submitting images must be the
legal copyright owners and have the "right" to submit the
image and assign non-exclusive rights to EquipU, LLC and WildflowerHaven.com to publish the image on
WildflowerHaven.com and
WildflowerHaven Community.
Note: The photographer retains rights to
their images and only conveys to EquipU, LLC, a non-exclusive right
to post the images on WildflowerHaven.com and
WildflowerHaven Community.
Prize awards will be issued electronically
via www.paypal.com or by
money order.
Winners:
Winning photographs will be selected and winners contacted
via email by 11:59 GMT of June 30, 2005.
Privacy:
The Spring Wildflower Photo Contest is a
promotional tool, and as such email addresses of those
submitting images will be added to the WildflowerHaven
newsletter mailing list, but will not be shared with others.
